Sacred Heart Arts and Science College, Perani

The Academic Council of Sacred Heart Arts and Science College, Perani is the apex academic body of the institution. It is constituted in accordance with the guidelines of the affiliating university, UGC, and statutory bodies to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and evaluation.

The Council plays a pivotal role in planning, monitoring, and reviewing academic policies, curriculum implementation, and overall academic development of the college.

Objectives

  • To maintain and enhance academic standards of the institution

  • To design, review, and update curricula in line with current academic and industry needs

  • To promote innovative teaching–learning practices

  • To ensure effective assessment and evaluation methods

  • To encourage research, extension, and skill-based programmes

Functions

  • Approve academic regulations, syllabi, and course structures

  • Review teaching plans, academic calendars, and examination schedules

  • Monitor internal assessment and evaluation processes

  • Recommend introduction of new programmes, courses, and value-added initiatives

  • Ensure quality assurance in academic activities
