Sacred Heart Arts and Science College, Perani

• Sacred Heart Arts and Science College in Perani is a self-financing higher education institution for women established in the academic year 2017-18 by the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST) educational trust.

• It was started with the approval of the Government of Tamil Nadu (Department of Higher Education) to empower rural and marginalized women with higher education.

Sacred Heart Arts and Science College is run by the CSST Educational Society.

• The college itself does not have an MOA like a company.

• The sponsoring body (trust/society) that established the college will have a Memorandum of Association (or similar foundational document) under the relevant law (eg: Societies Registration Act, Trust Act or Section 8 company regulations).
